MTV has finally revealed whether one of its most popular shows is returning for a sixth season.
Some Siesta Key cast members dropped hints that Season 5 might be their last one.

Sources on the reality show told TMZ that Siesta Key is not officially canceled, just on pause for now.
However, Season 6 won't be happening anytime soon.
The current version of the MTV show has ended after five seasons.
Siesta Key hit an all-time ratings low in January 2023 just before the Season 5 finale.

The reality show aired in July 2017 and took place in Sarasota County, Florida, off the coast of the Gulf of Mexico.
Following in the footsteps of the '00s show Laguna Beach, Siesta Key, found young adults that spent their summer together in their hometown.
While there, they were confronted with love, heartbreak, class and looming adulthood.
However, the show pivoted in Season 5 when it focused on castmate Juliette Porter and her friends who moved to Miami.

Episodes aired on Thursday nights on MTV at 9/8c.
Past seasons can be watched on Hulu and Paramount+.

FEELS LIKE A GOODBYE
Some of the cast of Siesta Key has left hints on social media that the show was ending.
Longtime cast member Amanda Miller posted about the series days before the Season 5 finale on Instagram.
"For the last 5 years these people (& a few more) have become more than friends, they’re my family," she captioned the post.
"It’s been an honor doing this show with them by my side and the memories we’ve all made together are unforgettable & I will be carrying them with me forever. Despite the drama, tomorrows finale shows so many of the great moments we’ve had as well."
"Do I dare say it’s my favorite yet? It just might be. I can’t wait for you all to see it. I love you my@siestakeyfamily, and to all of our fans I couldn’t be more grateful for your support," Amanda ended.
Many fans in the comments begged for the show not to end while others said the Season 5 finale felt like the perfect ending.
Juliette also left a hint that the show wasn't returning.
Before the Season 5 finale, she posted on Instagram, "Now that I'm no longer on a reality show (for now), I'm focusing on paid brand deals."
FANS REACT
Many Siesta Key fans were upset over the fate of their favorite show.
When TMZ reported that the reality show was on pause, fans reacted to the news on X, formerly Twitter.

"Booo. I love this show," one user wrote.
"Nooo. I hope they find a way to renew it," said another.
"It makes sense that Siesta Key might not be coming back because of it's ratings, but I really hopes it comes back even for a shortened season," a third added.
CUTTING TIES
Siesta Key has gone through many cast shakeups, but none were as shocking as Alex Kompothecras being fired after Season 3.
His alleged racist past emerged on social media, which caused the show to cut ties with him.
Alex came under fire when fans shared videos of him using the N-word and other racial slurs, on Instagram.
Despite firing him, Alex still appeared in Season 3, as it was filmed months before the accusations came out, but his role was severely cut down.

MTV let fans know about why he was rarely seen in the season.
“We’ve made the decision to cut ties with Alex and are editing the current season to minimize his presence. He will not be in future seasons of Siesta Key," they tweeted.
