Phantasy Star Online 2 (2024)

This thread is to discuss the game Phantasy Star Online 2 an MMORPG by Sega, since the last thread located here has not been updated in 3 years, and does not contain any information about running the game in English or actually playing it.

If your reading this far, I assume you would like to know how to install the game, well to install the game, your going to want to browse on over here, and download PSO2 Tweaker it will be your primary agent for downloading, installing and playing the game.

Due to its importance and tendency to create extra files, I would recommend giving it its own folder somewhere and creating a desktop shortcut to the exe since thats all your going to need to pay attention too.

Anyway, once you download it, and put it somewhere, run the exe and let it download the game, this process will take forever even on good connections, there is not much you can do about it, it is just a slow system to download 36,000 loose files, as such I would recommend doing this overnight, or whenever you can just not pay attention to it for a long amount of time.

It is safe to make your account while the game is downloading, and it may actually save you time, To create an account just follow the guide here

Once the download has finished if you exit and renter the tweaker it will automatically install the English menu patch much to my dismay, if you want more then just the menus translated which you probably do, your going to click the orb up at the top and under it there will be "Install updates/patches" under it your going to want to install "English patch", "English large files", and "English story patch" once this is done go to the orb one last time, then under plugins check "Item translation" and "tittle translation" you are now done, and the game is in English.

Thats it, though, you just click those, let the tweaker do its thing, then hit play game, simple as that, no proxy settings needed, no manually installing any thing its all automated.

Remember, make your character on ship 2 it is the unofficial English one, if you don't you will likley be unable to comunicate with any one.

Arkslayer unfortunately has an abysmal download speed, the download will take multiple hours even with good internet but on the plus side you can download patches in advance, so that is very nice.

I often recommend just setting it up, and letting it work overnight.

@ Smokey: That is 100% okay~ Were getting a massive expansion on the 27th of this month that will overhaul charecter creation, so you will have way more options then we do....

And we already have a tone.

I hope they give us a salon pass as compensation.

Hmm how overhauled? I'd hate to wait that long but if it's that huge maybe I'll just not make a character until then.

More sliders for bodyshape allowing you to make ummm, rotund charecters.

Resizing of accessories.

And outfits being split into 3 parts insetead of the whole outfit.

Theres a ps4 version coming....which i bet no one i know would play...

Negatory, there is not a PS 4 version coming outside of Japan, no version is.

Sega has flat out said so now, hence one reason I started this up.

However the game is 4 years old, graphics requirements are minimal, most P Cs should be able to run it.

I like how SEGA still hasn't admitted that the game is never coming out in the west. Sigh.

I Really want to like SEGA, but they aren't making it easy.

If this actually came out on ps4 and in the west, I could actually play it.

Well, they admit it if your a game jurnolist, see above link for instance.

Its just that none of the western ones give enough sh*ts about the tittle to pass it on.

The PS 4 version. The PC and Vita versions are still officially "Release date TBA."

What makes it even stupider is that there giving you all the anime in november, which ALONE would be torture, trust me it is horible, as in I have never seen a worse anime...

You don't need any thing but arkslayer which has since been linked in the OP.

Patches are installed through it once the game has downloaded, and it will automaticly download and keep those up to date.

Hmm, apparently if my computer goes to sleep it pauses the download.

There goes my idea of taking a nap and waiting for this to end.
