Starring Lily James, Michiel Huisman, Glen Powell, Jessica Brown Findlay, Katherine Parkinson, Matthew Goode, Tom Courtenay, Penelope Wilton, and Nicolo Pasetti, the film was released by Netflix on 10 August 2018. The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society was shot in London, Devon, Bristol, and Cornwall, England, the UK. Clovelly, a village in the Torridge district of Devon, was used for the scenes of Saint Peter Port, Guernsey in the film. Filming also took place at Ealing Studios in London.
