Valentine's Day Activities - Valentine's Day Art Collaborative posters are great for group art activities and bulletin board displays! This Valentine's Day group art project is perfect for small groups!
This Valentine's Day art project set includes 2 posters in THREE DIFFERENT SIZES and 1 COLORING PAGE! Students work in groups to create a one-of-a-kind masterpiece. Students can collaborate on color choices when working in smaller groups. Great activity for the classroom, after-school art programs, classroom celebrations, and even family nights!
Sometimes making a collaborative poster with an entire class can be challenging. I know I always struggled with finding a place to hang it! Reducing the number of pieces for smaller groups allows the students to have more input into color and design choices and it does not require a guide to assemble. This poster comes in 3 versions/sizes: 4 pages, 9 pages, and 16 pages allowing you to vary your group size.
Directions for Use in the Classroom:
These smaller collaborative posters are easy for students to assemble because there are only 4, 9 or 16 pages and they can easily put them together. They don’t usually need directions or a guide like larger, class-sized, posters. Below are some suggestions on how you can use them in your classroom:
1. Assign the pieces to a group of 3 or 4 students and have them create their own color scheme. Try giving a group of 3 students the 9-piece poster and let them collaborate on which colors to use. They will each color 3 pieces. For an entire class, you will get a lot of posters, each with its own color palette. This will lead to very unique posters in the classroom for each group.
2. Try a monochromatic poster. Have the students use only shades of blue, or red, or purple. These too will yield unique posters.
3. Use pop art patterns and colors to really create some great posters. Have the teams add patterns, words, and bright colors to make these paintings pop!
