WW Recipe of the Day: 35+ Easy Weight Watchers Desserts with 3 SmartPoints or Less!

What Sweet Treats Can I Eat on Weight Watchers?

One of the things I love about WeightWatchers is that nothing is off limits including desserts and sweet treats. On myWW you can indulge your sweet tooth and lose weight. Apple Pie? Chocolate Chip Cookies? Carrot Cake? Ice Cream?

Just because you are on a diet doesn’t mean you can't enjoy your favorite foods. Healthy eating and sustainable weight management is all about balance, whether that means opting for a low SmartPoint lunch so that you have room in your budget for an afternoon cookie or using your Weekly and/or rollover Points to enjoy a piece of cake.

However you choose to fit sweet treats into your eating plan is totally up to you. WW provides a flexible framework for lasting success.

Of course, some desserts and sweets that have higher Smart Points than others so you'll need to keep that in mind.

If you are making your own desserts at home, Weight Watchers has given some valuable tips on how you can make a healthier dessert right at your kitchen:

How Can I Make Homemade Desserts Lighter & Healthier & More WW Friendly?

  • Line baking trays and cake tins with baking paper. This reduces the amount of oil needed for greasing and also makes washing up easier.
  • Decrease the amount of sugar.
  • Substitute all or part of the sugar for unsweetened applesauce, mashed bananas or other fruit purees.
  • Substitute nonfat Greek Yogurt for some of the butter or oil.
  • Remember that foods with higher amounts of protein have lower Smart Points values but sweet snacks and desserts like cookies and sugar-sweetened beverages (sodas, sports drinks, etc.) have higher Smart Points.
